Fleas & Ticks
Yard-edge parasites that ride in on pets and wildlife.

Siphonaptera & Ixodida · Peak: Warm months; ticks into fall
Signs you have them
- Pets scratching, or flea dirt in their coat
- Small jumping insects around carpets and pet bedding
- Ticks found on people or pets after time outdoors
- Bites around ankles and lower legs
Behavior
Fleas complete most of their life cycle off the host — in carpet, bedding, and shaded yard soil — so treating only the pet leaves the population intact. Ticks wait at the tips of grass and brush along yard edges and trails, questing for a passing host.
Risks & health concerns
Fleas cause relentless itching and can transmit tapeworm; heavy infestations are hard to break. Ticks transmit Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and other illnesses to both people and pets.
How we treat fleas & ticks
- 01Treat the yard edge, harborage, and shaded resting areas
- 02Apply an IGR indoors to break the flea life cycle
- 03Coordinate timing with the pet’s veterinary flea/tick treatment
- 04Reduce leaf litter and brush where ticks quest
Common questions
We use EPA-registered products applied strictly as directed on the label, and an Integrated Pest Management approach that uses the least-invasive effective method — often baits and targeted placements rather than broadcast spraying. The product label sets the re-entry interval; for most interior applications that simply means staying off treated surfaces until they are dry. We will always walk you through what we are using and any precautions.
In the Triangle, mosquito pressure runs roughly April through October. Our seasonal program re-treats about every three weeks to maintain the barrier through peak months. We also offer single-event pre-treatments for weddings and parties.
